SPARK Volunteers

Would you like to be a SPARK volunteer?

Spark Community Space is working in the Portsmouth area to help people who feel socially excluded to find community, give them a place to belong and help them find their spark.

We are always on the lookout for new volunteers to help us out so if you would like to join our team keep reading.

You must be over the age of 18 to Volunteer with us. After we receive your application, we will contact you and arrange an interview in person or by phone with our Spark Coordinator. All information collected  will be kept confidential and will help us find the right place for you within Spark.

As a volunteer of Spark Community Space, you must agree to abide by all policies and procedures detailed in the volunteer handbook. You shall understand that you volunteer at your own risk and agree that all work you do is on a volunteer basis and that you are not eligible to receive any monetary payment.

Disclosure & Barring Services Check

Under the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, all convictions spent or not, must be declared. Any criminal record disclosed to us
will be considered on its merits and disclosure does not necessarily exclude someone from volunteering.

If deemed necessary, Community Associate Volunteers will be required to complete a DBS referral. (You MUST disclose any criminal convictions).

*ALL Volunteers must give at least two references (if possible), one being from a previous or current employer, or teacher, lecturer, support worker or friend known to you longer than 2 years (please make them aware we will contact them via email).
