SPARK Community Space

Helping people spark back into life!

"Let's do something outside ourselves,
Something that repairs tears in your community,
Something to make life better for people less fortunate than you,
That's what I think a meaningful life is,
Living not for oneself, but for one's community"

Can you help?

We are now looking for tradespeople, such as builders, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, painter and decorators and more, as well as companies who can donate materials and items such as kitchen equipment, tables and chairs and flooring.

Our First Black Tie Charity Ball was a HUGE Success!

In association with KERDOS International

We want to send out a HUGE thank you everyone who attended, supported us, bought raffle tickets or joined in with the silent auction.  We raised over £9000 on the night which is an amazing achievement.

We can’t wait until next year!

Spark Community Space Summer Ball 2022

Who we are

SPARK Community Space is a registered charity launched in October 2020 by Becki Simmons in Southsea, Portsmouth.

The charity aims to help people who don’t feel like they fit in, to access the support and services they need, so they can ‘Spark’ back into life.

What we do

At SPARK, we welcome anyone who feels pushed aside or overlooked by society, whether that’s because of illness, disability, redundancy, lack of qualifications or any other reason.

We meet people, wherever they are in life, without judgement, providing a space for people to share a cup of tea and a cake, gain skills and purpose through volunteering, and access training towards regaining confidence and a sense of belonging in society.

SPARK operates on a pay-what-you-can-afford basis along with donations.

Where we are

Our plans are to have a permanent space with half of it as a community café, to give people a safe and welcoming space to come when they need it, and the other half will be a charity shop where we can raise some funds to support the charity.

Right now we have a temporary space inside Sherlock’s Bar, Clarendon Road PO5 2ED, every Tuesday and Wednesday from 11am until 2pm.

Why not pop along for a cuppa and a piece of cake!

What you can do for us

We are always looking for people who can help us to grow our charity. If you’re interested in any of the following please get in touch:

  • Volunteers
  • Ambassadors
  • Donations

Why not make a donation or sponsor a cake! Every bit of help goes a long way.
